I graduated from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana) in 1985, with a degree in Photography and Visual Communication Design. I worked for an International Business Form Company for 15 years before taking the plunge of being a full-time mom. During this period of being a mom and staying home all day I went back to my roots of being an artist. The watercolor paintings, my son and I did together. It was a way for both of us to pass the time of the day and have fun too. It was our bonding time. Making artwork from our painting sessions started when I needed a wedding card for a friend. I created one from our watercolor paintings. I started making small gift items for family and friends from our artwork and now it has graduated to a full blown collection. ALL MY ARTWORK IS DIGITAL, I CAN OUTPUT WALLET SIZE TO POSTER SIZE FOR MOST PIECES.
InterestsI am a 3rd degree black belt in Karate. I am a Reiki Healer that can do personal healings and/or long distant healings. Healing prayers have no limitations to time or space. Reiki is an ancient healing art rediscovered by a Japanese Monk about 100 years ago. I also enjoy photography and mentoring people of all ages.
MusicI enjoy all music styles as long as the lyrics have a positive message.
FilmsI like most movies, as long as they are not too scary. I watched the Exorcist when I was 15 years old and that movie made me afraid of the dark for years. I am over that now but I am more mindful of what I watch.
TelevisionDocumentaries mostly, MythBusters on Discovery Channel and any paranormal shows are my family's favorite kind of shows.

Exhibitions

Self-Portrait Exhibition 2007 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 3rd place winner for Mixed Media in the Avisen-avk's International Art Contest December 2007 (online gallery), ....... Many of my pieces are meant to be viewed across the room. Some pieces of artwork look one way up close and when viewed from far away a hidden picture is revealed. For example "Trees of Wisdom" up close looks like a tree grouping but step away from it or squint your eyes at it reveals a torso and bare arms of an indian shaman. funny that you were thinking of me on the 9th - haven't logged in for ages, and had 'homecoming' finally on 10th - and screened the movie "spirit dances" outside in the garden ... signs of radiance everywhere, hundreds of little miniatures (like the card I sent) making magical worlds by fairy light and candles in the lounge - wish you could have been there - was talking about you, and thinking of you and that first card all those years ago - God bless.. reading about matrix energy and dancing with the light - love and light vaun

Hi there, I must appologise also for taking awhile to reply. Your image Snow Spirits is beautiful, it really captures the atmosphere and essence of the season. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful place. I also particularly liked I am Empty, Kingdom and Expecting.
