Interests and Personality
Biography | I am a self taught Artist from Chichester, West Sussex in England. In 1999 I worked as an Art Tutor at the Castle School of Art in Southsea, England as a Tutor and taught both adults and children the basics of painting in oils.
I usually paint in acrylic on wood panels and canvas blocks. However, mixed media such as oils, acrylic inks, watercolours, pastels and textured substances are also used regularly to create the effects I need for each painting. I am most interested in figurative art with abstraction.
I complete many of my paintings through a combination of sketches, photographs, life observation and scenes from my imagination. They are built up with several layers of paint and/or mixed media, and each layer is applied carefully to give the painting a greater depth of colour.
In short - painting for me is a real lifelong love!! |
Interests | Painting, parties, travelling, reading, flying (when time and money allows), skiing, chilling and spending time with my favourite people! |
Music | Everything and anything - my taste constantly evolves. |
Films | Art movies, action and thriller - no scaries though... |
Television | Prefer not to.....life is just too short and there is plenty of painting to do! |
Books | Always have time here, am a artist biography fanatic and enjoy the odd spy book. |
Heroes | People who can be themselves in a terribly pretentious world. |
Exhibitions

September 2007 - Petworth Hall, Petworth, West Sussex Date TBA.

Susie, one of the friends listed at your site, is ill. A get well letter would do her heart good and cheer her up a bit. We live in a world that does not apriciate art. We must care for eachother. So leave a post on her board if you have time. Put a smile on her face when she gets home from the hospital. L John TOX Hope all is well with you.

Thanks for checking out my site Ruth. I really appreciate your comments. Dreams are a great inspiration. I don't always understand them, but often they feel important enough for me to want to paint them. Have a good one. ~Marianne
